Do you ever wake up on Monday morning and feel like you’ve wasted the weekend because you achieved nothing in your spare time? Spend a little extra time doing these activities on the weekend so that you can wake up fresh and ready to attack the week ahead:
– Get all your laundry done over the weekend. There’s nothing morning more annoying on Monday morning trying to find something clean to wear or worse, having to wear the clothes you hate because you haven’t washed your favorite ones. If you’re feeling extra motivated, prepare an outfit for Monday.
– Plan your week. Take some time to think about what you want to achieve in the week, 1-2 main goals, write them down and when you want to achieve them by. They can be anything from work related to personal goals, but go into your week with purpose and a plan.
– Unplug for a while. Allow yourself some quiet (unplugged) time. Read, watch that movie you’ve been wanting to watch, garden, cook… Do something for yourself but keep off social media and get offline.
– Do something physical. Whether it be a session at the gym, going for a run or a yoga class, being physically active on the weekend will keep you motivated to complete other tasks and make you feel good (hello endorphins!). If you’re struggling for motivation, organize to meet up with a friend and compromise by going for a coffee or protein shake afterwards as a reward.
– Spend some time outside. Get some fresh air and sunshine. Take a walk, do some gardening, grab a coffee in the sun, anything to be outdoors for a bit.
– Clean your home. Set yourself a 45 min (max) time limit to clean your house. It’s easy to waste valuable time off on the weekends by cleaning the house. An effective technique is to give yourself a time limit to get as much done as possible. You will be surprised at what you can accomplish! It’s always so lovely to relax on a Sunday night when the house is in order and looking pretty again.
– Make time to socialize! Whether it be meeting a friend for coffee or dressing up in your favorite outfit and heading out for a couple of drinks, catching up with friends always boosts ones mood and feelings of gratitude and contentment.
– Make your lunch for Monday. This one is easy because one less chore on Monday morning is always a good thing.
– Get the groceries done. If you can, try hit up your local farmers market for all your grocery needs. There are so many positives to buying your food at your local farmers markets over the mainstream supermarket chains. Not only are you buying the freshest food available and helping out local farmers but you are also helping reduce your carbon footprint. And isn’t it nicer to be outside in the sunshine, sampling the tasty treats on offer and splurging on a fresh juice? The other upside – you don’t have all the junk food available, which is great for those who shop while hungry!
– Clean out your handbag. It might seem strange but upend the contents of your bag onto your bed and chuck out used gum wrappers and receipts, put that collection of lip products away, and make sure every thing you put back in is needed. You’ll be surprise how organized you feel during the week when you can actually find something in your bag!
