Welcome to a new series on The Chic Identity that I am calling ‘Style Around Me‘. Each post in the ‘Style Around Me‘ series will be dedicated to outfits that have been created around 1 item of clothing or accessory from my wardrobe. I am going to be challenging myself to create as many different looks as I can with 1 key piece.
This ‘Style Around Me‘ series aims to address the following issues we often face with our wardrobes:
// 1 //
Our wardrobes seem to be full of clothes we don’t want to wear and never wear.
// 2 //
Our outfits feel uninspiring and repetitive.
// 3 //
We continually buy new things to try make what we own look better.
Anyone who has been following me for a while now will know that I have embarked on the minimalism journey and subsequently have adopted a mindset of doing more with less. This has resulted in my wardrobe being drastically downsized and therefore requiring me to step up in my styling and creativity skills to find new ways to put outfits together. Not only that, but it has reinforced my belief that if you have a good wardrobe foundation with versatile pieces, you will have endless outfit opportunities available to you.
By creating a variety of different outfits around one item in my collection I want to show you (and myself) how versatile various items can be and hopefully inspire you to start creating your own new outfits and increase your wardrobe versatility.
If you currently have a wardrobe that is cluttered and stuffed with clothes, I encourage you to first clean it out by following the steps in my previous post here. Surprisingly, it’s actually easier to work with less…
I encourage you to take on these ‘Style Around Me’ challenges with me and discover new ways to wear your clothes and realise that all your wardrobe has ever needed is your creativity and flair.
The first post in this series will feature the classic white tee. See how I pair this tee with items in my wardrobe here.
