I am SO late to try this concealer. I know it, you know it, but let’s continue with this review shall we?
Before we get into it, I feel it is always important to know how the company markets their products, so we can give a fair review on if they have delivered on their promises. Here is what Urban Decay have to say about the Naked Skin Weightless Complete Coverage Concealer:
Naked Skin Weightless Complete Coverage Concealer gives you buildable, even coverage with a luminous, demi-matte finish. Ultra lightweight, this high-tech formula melds like a second skin to give you full coverage in an instant. For complete coverage, just keep building; no matter how much you apply, Naked Skin Concealer always blends beautifully and NEVER settles into fine lines.
Sounds like a concealer that is going to have your back when you accidentally binge watch How to Get Away with Murder till the wee hours of the morning right?
At a tidy $46AUD for 5 ml / 0.16 fl oz, this is the most expensive concealer I have bought to date. There are 14 shades in the range and I use shade ‘warm light’.
My Eye Situation
My undereye area is prone to dark circles and puffiness but I don’t have too many problems (yet) with fine lines or wrinkles and the skin under my eyes just a touch dry on some days, but it’s definitely not oily. So that’s what I am working with. I only use a moisturizer with SPF throughout the day under my eyes, no extra eye serums or primers for me. I found that in the past I have tried concealers that have actually GIVEN me the appearance of fine lines and dry skin. Boo to them.
The Chic Opinion
My experience of the Urban Decay Naked Skin Weightless Complete Coverage Concealer has been incredibly positive. It’s my favorite concealer to date for a few reasons. Firstly, it layers really nicely for buildable coverage on those extra tough days without looking cakey or dry. I will say I don’t believe it is as ‘full coverage’ as it is marketed, but it does leave my skin looking natural and brighter. Sometimes I apply 2 layers instead of one (damn you How to Get Away with Murder!), and it builds beautifully. Secondly, I always set my concealer (whichever one I’m using) with powder and I find that the UD concealer does not crease or create the appearance of fine lines on me at all. Thank god. And lastly, I LOVE the applicator. It is a great size and incredibly soft and it dispenses enough product for both eyes in one go. You don’t realize how much you will love a super gentle applicator until you try one.
The only slightly negative things I will say about this product is that is expensive and it is not ‘full coverage’ like it is marketed. But that doesn’t mean it doesn’t perform well. If you are applying it over foundation than it performs even better to brighten your under eye area. Also, it is not a genie so it will not get rid of any bag situation that you have (no matter how much you pray it will). But it will do it’s best to conceal it…
So the Urban Decay Naked Skin Weightless Complete Coverage Concealer gets a big tick from me! If you have tried it or any others that you would recommend, please comment below and let me know. I am always looking for the best of everything! Also, if you have tried the Tarte Shape Tape, I would love to know your opinion of it and if it is worth a shot.
