Here we go – round 2 of the cruelty-free lipstick review series. Today’s review is of a classic, cult fave – the Too Faced Melted Liquiefied Long Wear Lipstick in Chihuahua. It is one of the most popular shades in the Melted collection and is extremely on point with the current brownish nudes that have made a comeback courtesy of Kylie Jenner. Up until recently Too Faced was 100% cruelty free, however they have since been acquired by Estee Lauder, who are not. Too Faced has publicly announced however that they will not change their current stance against animal testing and will remain cruelty-free.

Claim: A melted lipstick that has the staying power of a stain, the colour of a liquid lipstick and the shine of a gloss.

Review:

It is a great deep nude shade with pink and brown undertones to it. A very on-trend shade at the moment.

Very opaque application.

Because of its gloss-like shine this product does transfer, however it takes time before the colour fades off the lips.

It is long lasting if you aren’t eating, but can be topped up without issue once it starts to fade.

It is very comfortable to wear, not at all drying.

The packaging makes it super easy to apply and touch up on the go. The unique felt applicator makes it mess free.

The downside to the packaging is that you cannot tell how much product you have left.

The other downside is that the colour of the packaging is not that similar to the shade that you get. The real life application has more brown tones than the dusty rose tones the packaging has.

Things to Know:

It is vegan!

A full-size version costs $30.00AUD.

If you blot the lipstick after applying, you can increase the longevity of the colour.

The liquid formula allows for it to blended with other Melted shades for extra dimension and uniqueness. Try popping a bit of Melted Nude in the centre of your lips for a fuller looking pout!

Overall: This is one that I highly recommend if you think this shade is right for you. I find this shade most flattering when I have a slight tan. But be aware that this is not going to behave like a normal lipstick. It is a combination of lipstick and lipgloss really…
