I am constantly on the hunt for the perfect foundation that gives my skin a natural, flawless looking glow. I want perfection but in the most subtle way. So when I saw so many positive reviews on the Too Faced Born This Way Foundation I decided perhaps this would be the one for me.
Before we get into it, I feel it is always important to know how the company markets their products, so we can give a fair review on if they have delivered on their promises. Here is what Too Faced has to say about their Born This Way Foundation:
Medium-to-full, undetectable coverage. Oil-free. Coconut Water helps delicately replenish skin’s moisture levels without over hydrating. Infused with the resilient Alpine Rose to brighten the skin’s appearance and promote elasticity. Hyaluronic Acid provides long-lasting, skin-balancing hydration for a smoother, more youthful appearance.
This product retails in Australia for $57 for 30mL. There are 24 shades in the range and the shade that I wear is Nude. Too Faced is cruelty-free (however it has since been acquired by Estee Lauder).
This is a medium to full coverage foundation that builds easily to create the desired level of coverage, whilst at the same time remaining natural looking on the skin. Personally, I find it best applied with a beauty blender for a more flawless, airbrushed finish. Dot the foundation onto the face and blend out with dabbing motions using a beauty sponge. It is oil free yet creates a luminous, dewy finish without looking greasy.
The Chic Opinion
This is such a beautiful, natural looking foundation that works really well with my skin. It does claim to be undetectable on the skin but I disagree. Natural yes, undetectable no. It does not sink into pores or exaggerate fine lines and wrinkles, especially if applied after a primer and set with powder. I find it wears really well throughout the day for me, only requiring blotting in my normal-oily t-zone.
I do set my areas that are prone to oiliness with powder, which helps keep the foundation from lifting throughout the course of the day. Because it is a dewy foundation that I find that it can enhance the appearance of oily on the skin if it isn’t set with powder. I believe it would work best for dry to combination skin, although there have been many positive reviews for people who have oily and acne prone skin.
Because of its beautiful coverage and luminous finish (which is NOT AT ALL glittery) I always get compliments on how glowing my skin looks when wearing this foundation, which I LOVE. It just leaves me feeling like my skin is living its best life, something I think we are all looking for in a foundation.
So the Too Faced Born This Way Foundation gets a big tick from me! If you have tried it or any other foundations that you would recommend, please comment below and let me know. I am always looking for the best of everything!
