How To Make Your Own Coffee Body Scrub

Coffee scrubs are allllll the rage right now, I mean, who isn’t a friend of Frank if instagram is anything to go by. And why wouldn’t you be? Coffee scrubs leave your skin feeling so soft and nourished and they smell fantastic!

I have a Nespresso machine at home that uses coffee pods and decided that instead of tossing my pods away (horribly wasteful I know, I’m sorry!), I decided that I could use the grounds in my own coffee scrub, and that’s at least better than throwing it all away right?

What you’ll need:

  • 2-3 used coffee pods depending on how much of your body you plan to scrub (I only ever use coffee pods from coffees that I have had that day, and I refrigerate them if I am not using them straight away)

  • 3-4¬†tablespoons of cocout oil (I like a little more oil in my scrub so that it is easier to use and sticks to the skin better)

  • 1 bowl to combine ingredients in

  • Any essential oils that you like – I would suggest perhaps orange oil which will create that jaffa like scent

What to do:

  1. Carefully remove the top of the coffee pod foil with a knife and tip the grounds into the bowl.
  2. Mix in the coconut oil and a couple of drops of essential oil (if preferred) in the bowl
  3. Apply all over your body!
  4. Yep, that’s it.

One thing I would suggest is doing this scrub in the shower cause you will get coffee grounds everywhere… also you don’t need to use much pressure at all. Let the grounds do all the work.

So there you have it, a super simple, super cheap but super effective way to get soft, smooth skin. Enjoy!
