Behind the Scenes: Getting Sh*t Done

Today’s post is being written whilst I enjoy a nice glass of wine. Yes you heard me right, I have forgone my coffee this afternoon and switched to wine. But don’t worry, I’m only on my first glass so the rest of this post should be readable…As another week wraps up I have to pause and look at the month that was January. Has everyone else seen all those memes about how long it felt?  I’m glad it wasn’t just me that felt like it lasted forever. Without a doubt it was the most productive January I have ever had (there was a lot of coffee involved…).

Getting Sh*t Done

Just in case you hadn’t noticed, but I’ve been uploading 2 times a week this year (effectively, I have uploaded just as much this month as I did in the last 6 months of 2017! Booyah! ). Uploading twice a week has pretty much been my goal ever since I started blogging 2 years ago but I was NOT making the time to get it done. Getting 2 posts up a week when working full time has been so rewarding but it really requires a lot of planning and time management on my behalf. Did you know that I get most of my writing done before I start work during the week? I have developed the most productive morning routine that motivates me to get out of bed on time and the fab part is that this routine has now been in effect long enough that it has become a habit. I also planned 6 months worth of post ideas at the start of the year so that I know when and what is coming – making it easier to put pen to paper (so to speak). I am tossing up on writing more about how to create your own ideal morning routine…to be decided though…

Google Calendar

I couldn’t stay as on schedule as I have been without Google Calendar. I promise you that this is not a sponsored plug or anything (as if Google knows who I am anyway). I have used Google Calendar for about a year now but it wasn’t until about November last year that I really started putting EVERYTHING into it. I put boring things in like when bills and rent are due, birthdays are now in it (I got rid of Facebook if you remember), workout and reading times are scheduled 5x a week by Google through the ‘goal’ settings and all events and blog goals are there. Now I know weeks in advance what I have on and can schedule my time effectively. I HIGHLY recommend Google Calendar if you’re also trying to fit a million things into your week…

New Wardrobe, New You

Last week I posted the 6 steps that you can take to rescue your wardrobe. This post will guide you through the steps on how to revitalize your wardrobe and regain your sense of style (and self) without having to buy anything. When we look in our full wardrobes and feel like we have nothing to wear than it is a sign that we actually have TOO many options, more than we know what to do with. Half the time it’s because we have so much crap that we can’t see the forest for the trees (so to speak). So check it out if you battle every day to find something to wear. You honestly have nothing to lose…

So that is this week in a nutshell, I hope you guys have had a fabulous one yourselves and I can’t wait to catch up with you next week! Remember to subscribe to The Chic Identity email list or follow me on Bloglovin’ and Instagram to know when new posts go live xxx

I would love to hear your comments, questions and feedback! xx
