2017 is going to have a lot of quick and to the point beauty reviews I’ve decided. To kick off the new year, I have decided to do quick reviews of all my cruelty-free lipsticks. Part 1 of my cruelty-free lipstick review series starts with the Australis Colour Inject Moisturising Lipstick in the shade “Mambo”. Australis is Certified Cruelty-Free and you will note the little bunny logo on their packaging. It is one of Australia’s leading drugstore brands and a personal favorite of mine!
Claim: A long lasting, moisturizing and nourishing lipstick that provides an injection of vitamins, minerals and antioxidants.
Mambo is a very pale nude with cool undertones.
The shape allows for easy, effortless application.
The colour payoff is great, lots of pigmentation.
Whilst it isn’t drying, it does not feel like it adds any extra nourishment to the lips like it claims.
Has a good wear time and fades well.
It has quite a ‘cosmetic-y- smell to it, that I can sometimes taste, but it is not offensive.
It wears well with a nude gloss on top to help reduce the look of any dryness that might appear. Recommend NYX Butter Gloss in Madeline.
Things to Know:
It is affordable at $13.95AUD.
This nude formula requires lips to be soft and buffed beforehand otherwise it will cling to dry patches and enhance them.
You can easily apply this shade without a lip liner.
Overall: The cool undertone of this lipstick shade would probably not be suitable to all skin tones, but it is worth trying if you think it is something you would like as the overall application and colour is great. I am onto my second tube of it as it is such a handy and affordable staple and I enjoy wearing it underneath other nude glosses for extra opacity.
